Dr Vinod Sanem is a highly experienced consultant in Pain medicine and Anaesthetics, based in Hull. His practice focuses principally on spinal pain, back pain, sciatica, neck pain, brachialgia and neuropathic pain.
Dr Sanem undertook his primary medical education at NTR University of Health Sciences, India, graduating with an MBBS in 1997, followed by Doctorate in Medicine (MD) in Anaesthesia in 2002. He later moved to the UK, where he completed specialty training in anaesthesia with advanced training in the management of chronic pain at Hull, York, and Leeds, passed FRCA, in 2008. He successfully passed the FFPMRCA exam, a benchmark qualification in pain medicine recognised by the Faculty of Pain Medicine (Royal College of Anaesthetists) in the UK.
Dr Sanem is currently a consultant in Pain medicine and Anaesthetics at Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital, as well as at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. He is proficient in various pain intervention techniques, including fluoroscopy (X-ray) guided precision diagnostic blocks, Lumbar, Thoracic, Cervical and caudal epidurals, Medial branch blocks and denervation, facet joint injections, Sacroiliac joint injections, trigger point injections, peripheral nerve blocks, sympathetic blocks, radiofrequency denervation techniques, and ultrasound-guided injections.
Dr Sanem is a member of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCOA), Neuromodulation Society of the United Kingdom and Ireland (NSUKI) and British Pain society (BPS).
